A Guide – How to really do a weekend in the Perth Hills.
Step 1: Drive 65 Mustang to 27 Hartung in Mundaring and check-in .
Step 2: Graciously accept your welcome basket, champagne, handwritten notes & check-in letter.
Step 3: Farewell your host and wait till she leaves before squealing like a school girl, running around the room to check out the amazing space. Yes, there’s bath bombs and candles waiting for you in the bathroom. Of course, there’s a fully stocked tea and coffee station including lollies, chocolates and *eep* caramel slice! Obviously, every surface is beautifully laid out with local art, books, games, mandala colouring and positive phrases. As is standard, there are choccies on the bed along with an affirmation to get you in the mood for the weekend. Mine was ‘go with the flow’. You bet I will!
Step 4: Get naked! Then pull on your robe and slippers, pop the cork on your first champagne and find a possie by the window to look out onto the garden. Be sure not to look too smug at this stage…it’s hard, but do try!
Step 5: Once your first champers is downed, greet your Kali Ma spa therapist who will escort you to your massage room for 90 minutes of bliss.
Step 6: Emerge from your cocoon of relaxation and wander out to the verandah where a cheese platter and (you guessed it) more champers awaits, along with some friends who cleverly decided to join you for the weekend. Play crabs adjust humidity. Eat cheese. Drink. Laugh.
Step 7: Have a shower and put your face and some clothes on. Wander up to the Mundaring Hotel for a scrumptious dinner, drinks and live music.
Step 8: Stumble back to 27 Hartung for a final tipple, drunkenly colour in a mandala, listen to tunes via the portable Bluetooth speaker. And laugh.
Step 9: Have the most incredible sleep in a king size bed, with luxurious linen and enough pillows to cushion your dreams. Hanky panky is optional but highly recommended at this stage.
Step 10: Wake up whenever the hell you want, mix a mimosa (when in Rome!) And plan how to do nothing all day.
Step 11: Use the provided bikes to ride across town to Cafe Mojo for more incredible coffee and a delicious bite to eat.
Step 12: Return to 27 Hartung and run a bubble bath, outdoors, in the garden for you and your beloved.
Step 13: Read a book on the daybed, eat choccies, drink champagne, listen to music and the birds and wonder how you’ll ever be satisfied staying anywhere else…ever again.
